James Tierney is an associate with Petroff Amshen LLP, where he focuses on foreclosure defense and real estate matters.Mr. Tierney has comprehensive experience handling civil litigation matters, from the initial filing of a summons and complaint through the appellate process. Mr. Tierney previously worked for one of New York’s largest firms before dedicating himself to representing helping homeowners facing foreclosure of their homes. Mr. Tierney is also a past volunteer with the Suffolk County Bar Association Pro Bono Foreclosure Settlement Project.
James Tierney received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Joseph’s College and his juris doctor from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. While in law school, he was a member of the Touro Law Review. Mr. Tierney’s Law Review comment analyzing Huntington, New York’s sex offender policy and the intrastate right to travel was published in the Spring 2010 edition of the Touro Law Review (26 Touro L. Rev. 145).
Mr. Tierney is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of New York as well as the federal district courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is also a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
